Security

Data security matters to FuelLog, especially for photos, exports, backups, Cloud Backup, Google sign-in and app diagnostics.

Basic measures

  • data transfer to the backend and Google/Firebase services uses HTTPS;
  • account access is handled via Google sign-in;
  • backend tokens are stored in encrypted app storage where supported by the device;
  • photos are stored locally in the app's internal storage in the current version;
  • Cloud Backup stores database history without physical attachment photos;
  • ZIP backups and exports are controlled by the user, who chooses where to save or share them;
  • Firebase Crashlytics and diagnostics help detect crashes and app issues;
  • limited audit records may be kept for selected actions.

User recommendations

  • do not share access to your Google account;
  • check who you are sending an export file to;
  • do not photograph data that is not needed for vehicle records;
  • if you use Cloud Backup, protect both your device and Google account with strong security.
