Account and data deletion

This page lets you request deletion of your FuelLog account and backend data linked to Google sign-in.

Option 1: Delete in the app

Open the app:

The app shows a summary of your data, asks you to verify your Google account again and schedules the deletion with a 48-hour protection period.

As soon as the server accepts the request, the app itself removes the signed-in account's local data from this phone, including photos, and signs you out. Other phones with this account lock the profile and remove their local data for this account once the deletion is completed. If you cancel the request within 48 hours, the account on the server remains, but local data that was already removed does not come back — you can restore it from a backup.

Manual ZIP backups, exports and files saved outside the app must be deleted separately.

Option 2: Delete using this website

Sign in on this page with the Google account used in the app. Sign-in happens directly with Google and our backend — this page never sees your Google credentials or token, only a short-lived, deletion-only permission. For security reasons the sign-in is valid only for a limited time; if it expires, the page will ask you to sign in again.

Phones running the app that are signed in to this account lock the profile once they detect the request and remove the account's local data once the deletion is completed.

Option 3: Request by email

If you cannot sign in with Google, email us at:

Include the email address of the Google account used in the app. We may ask for additional verification to prevent deletion of someone else's account.

What will be deleted on the backend

• your profile and Google account identification stored on the backend, such as e-mail address, name and profile photo;
• the link between your Google account and your devices;
• your plan, subscription, entitlements and car list;
• your Cloud Backup and its metadata;
• feedback sent from the app;
• records of your subscription purchases;
• shared cars you own, including their records, members and invitations, and archives of shared cars whose sharing has ended; other members lose access to them;
• your memberships in other people's shared cars and invitations you received; we remove your name and identifier from the change history and from records you added to other people's cars (the records themselves remain part of the owner's car or its archive);
• other technical records directly linked to the account.

What the backend does not delete

Data stored outside the server — files you exported from the app (PDF, CSV, manual ZIP backups) and local data on phones that no longer connect to the account — cannot be deleted by the backend or this website. To remove local data from a phone, uninstall the app or use Android Settings → Apps → FuelLog → Storage → Clear data.

If Android system backup is enabled, Android may keep a backup of the app's database and settings (without photos) according to your device and Google account settings. These backups are managed outside FuelLog.

Protection period and cancellation

After confirmation, deletion will be scheduled after a 48-hour protection period. Until then, you can cancel the request in the app or on this page after signing in with the same Google account.

What may remain temporarily or in limited form

After the deletion is completed we keep:

• an anonymous confirmation that the deletion took place (without e-mail or name) for 3 years;
• a technical record that prevents misuse of the same identity, for 90 days or until a new account is created;
• administrator action records for 90 days and operational logs for 30 days;
• database backups for disaster recovery for at most 30 days; if the database ever had to be restored, we would repeat the deletion of accounts deleted in that period.

Payment records are kept by Google Play under its own rules.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You can delete some data on the server and keep your account:

• Cloud Backup: in the app, open the ⋮ menu → Backup → Cloud Backup → Delete cloud backup. The backup and its metadata are deleted from the server immediately.
• A shared car you own: choose Delete shared car, or End sharing and keep car (it stays on your phone as a private car). We delete the car's content on the server after 30 days.
• Archive of a shared car: in the car list, on the Archived shared car card, choose Download private archive. The car stays on your phone as a private car and we delete the archive on the server after 30 days.
• Other data, such as feedback you sent: email privacy@fuellog.eu from the address of the Google account used in the app.
